Wi-Fi that works in the room you actually sit in
We design, install and upgrade networks for homes and offices in London — wired and wireless. New premises, awkward buildings, or simply an existing setup that has never quite worked properly since the day it went in.
01The usual complaint
The router is not the problem
Almost nobody calls us about networking. They call because the connection upstairs is slow.
The single box your provider posted you was designed to be cheap and to sit in the middle of a small flat. In a Victorian house with solid walls, a converted basement, a mews, or an office with a lot of metal and glass in it, that box was never going to reach.
Buying a faster broadband package does not fix this, and nor does a supermarket range extender, which usually halves the speed of everything connected to it. What fixes it is putting the signal where the people are — which is a survey, some cable, and access points in the right places.
We do that work, and we do it in buildings where running cable is not straightforward.

The work itself
- Surveys — measuring what the signal actually does in your building instead of guessing from a floorplan
- Wireless systems — properly specified access points that hand devices between them as you walk, rather than a mesh of extenders
- Structured cabling — network points where the equipment lives, run tidily and terminated properly
- Broadband and providers — advice on what to order, and dealing with the provider when it goes wrong
- Guest and separated networks — visitors, staff and smart-home equipment kept apart from the machines holding your work
- Servers and shared storage — file storage that everyone can reach and that is actually backed up
- Office moves — planning the network into a new space so the first morning works
- Smart-home and audio-visual — the connected equipment that all quietly depends on the network being right
Installations are completed to a standard that can be handed to another firm: labelled, documented, and with credentials formally recorded.
03Questions
Common questions about networks
Will a mesh system or a range extender fix my Wi-Fi?
A well-specified mesh sometimes helps. Cheap extenders usually make things worse, because they repeat the signal on the same channel and roughly halve the throughput. In a house with solid walls the honest answer is nearly always a cable to a second access point.
Do you have to run cables through the house?
Where possible, yes, because it is the only approach that reliably works. How intrusive that is depends on the building, and we will set out the route and the options before anything is drilled. In listed or difficult properties there are usually less invasive alternatives worth considering.
Can you work with my existing equipment?
Often. If what you have is decent and simply badly placed or badly configured, we would rather reposition and reconfigure it than sell you replacements.
Do you set up smart-home and audio-visual systems?
Yes, and we look after the network that all of it depends on. When the speakers, cameras and heating all stop at once, the fault is almost never in the speakers, cameras or heating.
We are moving office. How far in advance should we call?
As early as you can — ideally before the lease is signed, because what is already in the building affects how much the fit-out will cost you. Failing that, several weeks, since provider lead times are the part nobody can hurry.
