01The service

One number for everything technical

Most of our clients came to us with four suppliers who did not speak to one another, and nobody accountable for the whole.

One firm handles the connectivity, another the email, a third built the website, and the machine holding the actual work goes wherever is nearest when it fails. Nobody holds the whole picture, so every fault becomes a question of whose responsibility it is.

We take all of it, and we keep taking it. The network, the devices, the accounts, the backups, the privacy, the software nobody can quite explain — looked after continuously rather than repaired when it breaks. That is the difference between a supplier and a concierge, and it is the basis of how we work.

Apple is the speciality. We are an Apple Specialist and a member of the Apple Consultants Network, and independently owned — close enough to Apple to know exactly how it is all designed to work, independent enough to be entirely on your side about it.

03How it works

How an engagement runs

  1. 01

    A conversation

We start by understanding what you have, how you use it, and what would actually hurt if it stopped.

  2. 02

    An assessment

A straight view of what is worth changing, what is worth leaving, and what is worth nothing at all.

  3. 03

    A written price

Per job, or the annual concierge fee. Either way the figure and the timescale are agreed before anything begins.

  4. 04

    Continuing care

The part that matters. Systems kept current, backups verified, and problems found before you notice them.

05Questions

Before you call

What does a technology concierge actually do?

Everything technical, continuously, for one annual fee — the devices, the network, the email and cloud accounts, the backups, the privacy and security, and one-to-one help whenever you want it. You call when something is wrong, however minor, and the work that quietly protects you happens whether or not anything is wrong. See Technology Concierge for the three arrangements.

Where exactly are you?

294 Kensington High Street, London W14 8NZ, towards the Olympia end. It is a working workshop with engineers in it, not a registered address rented to look local.

Do I need an appointment?

Call ahead on 020 7477 2151 where you can, particularly for a desktop machine or where a specific engineer needs to see it.

My Mac is too old for Apple to touch. Can you help?

Usually, yes. Apple classes machines as vintage and then obsolete, and stops servicing them. We are independent, so age is not a policy problem for us — it is only a question of whether the parts still exist and whether the repair is worth the money. We will tell you honestly if it is not.

Is the data on my Mac safe with you?

Yes. Handling client data properly is central to the practice. We access only what a job requires, retain nothing beyond it, and will set out exactly how your machine is handled while it is with us.

Do you support Windows PCs too, or just Macs?

Both. Most households and offices are mixed now — a Mac, a Windows laptop, an iPad, a printer nobody can connect to and a router in a cupboard. We look after all of it.

Do you provide one-to-one instruction?

Yes, and it is a substantial part of the practice. Sessions run at your own desk or ours, on whatever you want to cover, at whatever pace suits you.
